Specialized contips plating offers improved solutions for EMI grounding and shielding.

Contips, localized deposits of silver or gold, is used to enhance surface conductivity. This process is available on most of Orbel's standard beryllium copper contact strips and contact rings.

This proprietary plating process utilizes localized deposits of either gold or silver to enhance the surface conductivity of the contact point.

Specialized contips plating helps extend the life of the contact by providing dense plating at the wear point. Because of this very thick layer of silver or gold, contips plating offers the best longevity of any plating tested.

Orbel can apply the contips process to any of our standard beryllium copper standard contact strips. We can also custom fabricate contact rings made from our contact strips for specific cylindrical applications. The contact strips can be formed to accommodate male or female configured rings. These rings are furnished in any diameter and must contain an integral number of fingers.

Additional Capabilities Include

• Providing components with an overall plating of silver or gold (see table below)
• Supplying product in either strip form or rolled into a ring to satisfy numerous applications
• Applying contips plating to your custom designed contact strips or to those manufactured by other vendors
