Prototyping

Orbel’s dedicated prototype center is a fast and economical way to create custom metal stampings or custom EMI shielding for any application. Our prototype development team will work with your engineers to turn a design concept or 3D model into a fully functional production ready part in matter of days. Orbel has perfected our rapid photo etching process and quick set forming centers to develop high quality prototype parts. These prototype parts enable companies to evaluate and perform functional tests with genuine production parts without the worry of high tooling cost or delays in critical design time.

Short Run to Medium Volume

When production volumes are moderate, photo etching and secondary forming can be a complete, cost-effective production solution for volumes ranging from one hundred pieces up to fifty thousand pieces. With In-house photo tool capabilities coupled with experienced toolmakers Orbel can accommodate the increasing need to meet shortened lead times and tight deadlines.  Our broad selection of quick set universal tooling and secondary programmable forming centers allows Orbel to offer cost effective solutions for short to medium production requirements.

As your program volumes increase, Orbel’s photo etching, blanking, computerized press breaks and air presses can be utilized as bridge tooling, to produce fully functional production parts until the high volume tooling is completed. High Volume Stamping

For high volume stamping applications, Orbel may recommend a tooling investment to achieve the lowest possible piece price and greater manufacturing efficiency. We utilize the latest in high speed Bruderer presses for our high volume production stamping. Our progressive dies are built by quality craftsman using the latest design technology and tool building practices to ensure quality and long lasting die performance. Tape and Reel Packaging

Orbel’s in-house tape and reel packaging offers our customers an economical and automated SMT packaging solution. Tape and reel packaging is the preferred method for high volume production requirements for board level shielding, battery tabs and electrical contacts. The stamped components are placed in a custom designed, preformed-carrier tape and then wound onto a rigid plastic reel that provides product protection during shipping and handling. Many of the largest PCB manufacturers in the world rely on Orbel’s packaging expertise to support their automation and surface mount technology requirements.
