MultiCAV SmartFORM™ and FASweld™Orbel continues their dominance as the innovation technology leader of one piece, two piece and multi-cavity board level shielding. Our standard MultiCAV family of multi-compartment shielding allows printed circuit board designers to create complex shield shapes while saving valuable board space, manufacturing time and cost without sacrificing shielding performance. MultiCAV board level shielding is an effective solution to combine many individual shields which are in close proximity to each other into one PCB Shielding enclosure. These shields are typically designed as a two piece component with inner walls which are strategically placed to partition off the separate compartments while utilizing one common cover. With Orbel's unique fabrication methods we can easily construct these shields for surface mount, through-hole or a combination of both if required. Orbel's standard MultiCAV board level shielding designs make it easy to fabricate the most complex multi-cavity shielding you can dream up. Our two distinct shield styles SmartFORM and FASweld allow us to build multi-cavity shielding fast and cost effectively. The SmartFORM style shields are formed from one sheet of material to create the inner walls and can be designed with an optional pick target for tape and reel automation. The FASweld style shields are used when your design calls for a complicated multi-cavity construction where the inner walls are welded to the perimeter frame to create multi-compartments.
